The Ministry of Natural Resources has recently released an updated version of the Natural Heritage Reference Manual. The manual contains updated requirements that have implications for land use planning decision makers. For example, the updated manual requires that a scoped environmental impact assessment (EIS) be undertaken when development is proposed within 120 m of fish habitat.
